She is red, vibrant, Pulsing to be seen, To be held and caressed. She is a petal releasing fragrance - Deep, scarlet scent; Will he notice? Will he be pleased? Oh agony! He breathes the air straight from her lungs. She is wilting - yet wills him deeper still, to uphold her crumbling strength. He is a god! A golden god. Her soul is bruised with his beauty.

And I was beautiful until...

I've noticed that a common malady among people is the Hereitsyourbaby syndrom. You know how someone will ask to hold somebody's baby, and will adore it and be proud of it, and boast about how good they are with babies - until the little darling begins to scream. Then they promptly hand it back to the mommy with the mumbled comment "Hereitsyourbaby."
Well, so it works when someone has an idea for a group or organization, or class or some such thing. When they tell people about it, everyone thinks it's the grandest thing ever thought of, and promptly assure the inventor of their 100% support. They place themselves at the helm of this ship, and have a whole flock of other ingenious ideas and developments. Everything is so jolly and smooth, and they are so proud of themselves for having brought it all this far.
Until something goes wrong.
Then they conveniently remember that "Hereitsyourbaby", and walk out the door.

I think they should make calculators that text message.

'Chums' is a word that has become nearly extinct in our vocabulary. And it's such a nice little word. A good, jolly feeling comes into your head when you say it. "We're great chums, Sylvie and I" one says, and instantly you know they do ever so many sweet things together, and that they will be chums for years and years. Or if someone told you "You're a chum", wouldn't you feel on top of the world? You're a chum, and they know it. People trust a chum. People can't help but have fun with a chum. Everyone likes a chum.
'Chum' is starting to look rather strange.

I hate it when people make assumptions about me.

"Hi!" He exclaimed.
"Hey!" I responded.
"How are you?" we asked in unison, without meaning to. There was suddenly an odd, nearly awkward silence, as we both tried to figure out which one of us should respond first. Or should we ignore the over-used greeting altogether? We neither of us could merely say 'fine', because it would only serve to finalize the gap that just opened between us. One of us needed to come up with something very funny, or brilliant, so we could laugh and go on with a conversation like the friends we were. Only it was too late at night for that. So we exchanged a few halting pleasantries, and walked away, feeling rather puzzled and perplexed.

I want to grow up to be an old man.
It would be so much more interesting.

The music of Brahms and Chopin.
No other composers have the power they posses - the ability to with seductive hand reach inside my being, take the tempests of my soul and softly divide and encourage them, until I feel every emotion possible for an aching or elated heart. A whimsical Whaltz, a passionate Rhaposodie, a moody Etude or frantically cheery Intermezzo; no composers match their ability to speak the human plight by note.
I do not confess to be a great philosopher, nor even to have great knowledge of music, save to say that what I know is what I feel. If music can mirror my hollow despair over knowing the truth against my will, than I shall deem it beautiful and right. A great chef once told his aspiring student; "Travel the world, and use your palate as your guide", and I have taken his advice for my own. I travel the world of music, using my passions as my guide.
I am presently in love with the music of Brahms and Chopin.
